First of all, I am a registered Republican and I think Bush did a terrible job as President so this is in no way an attempt to defend Bush. With that out of the way, this blinding hatred that has overcome most of the democratic party needs to be controlled. I cannot remember an election where the GOP had done everything in its power to ensure the DNC would win the next presidency. The democrats respond by infighting amongst themselves and the candidate that was left standing is not electable.
Everyone raves about his oratory skills and are oblivious to his reliance on teleprompters. His outright refusal to participate in the traditional town hall debates with his opponent show his fear of dealing with non-scripted battles of whit.
I will agree that McCain is a pretty terrible alternative, but he is better than Obama and with an expected showing of the red states equal to their performance during the previous election, McCain is a almost assure the Presidency.
